PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) operates a coal mine in Sangatta East Kalimantan and is one of the largest export coal mines in the world. Coal Production in 2006 was 38 million tones and there are plans for further expansion in 2007 and beyond.
In material movement terms, KPC is also one of the largest open pit mines in the world with a fleet of over 200 haul trucks and 30 shovels moving over 2 millions tones of material per day.
An opportunity exists for a seasoned, high caliber, professional to join the Company with Job assignment in Sangatta - East Kalimantan for the positions of:
Superintendent Inventory & Material Contract (Code: SIMC)
Main elements of the position description include:
• Manage the inventory and tender and award process including ensuring adherence to company policy, setting procedures and controls etc.
• Optimization of the supplier/customer relationship including selection, commercial framework, performance measurement and reward.
• Compare the cost associated with the purchase of overseas and locally supplied Indonesian goods and set strategies on purchasing options to secure.
• Understanding of the key elements of the Supply Chain in respect of nominated supplier and commodities, identification of leverage points for improvement and through a continues improvement process improve the service or quality levels or reduce the total cost of supply.
• Plan and recommend the best practice of inventory management and policy in order to provide the highest service level of inventory availability and to keep maintaining the minimum inventory carrying cost and operational purchasing cost.
• Analyse and recommend the best purchasing method that related with inventory management such as managing of lead time by providing accurate requirement plan.
• Maintain the inventory of material strategic to the Company.
• Tender and award process of Material Supply Contract; Forward Purchase Agreement (FPA) for general consumables and Site Support Services Agreement (SSSA) for spare parts of production equipment.
• Analyse key suppliers and their respective strengths and weaknesses and design processes to improve supply chain operation - Contract Performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Tertiary qualification in Supply Management, Economy, Law or Engineering with 7 years broad experience and proven skills in purchasing and logistics management.
• Financial skills to handle costing and budget responsibilities.
• Negotiation, Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong people management skills, ideally with training in supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English to produce reports and deal with a diverse range of personnel.
• Computer skills in Ellipse or other computer supply systems.
